Networking Events Networking events are usually not that long, two to three hours at most so we say go ahead and wear those gorgeous heels.  Pair them with a business dress or business suit. Trade Shows Trade Shows are on the opposite end of the spectrum as in you are usually on your feet all day. Go for flats and if you’re manning a stand, opt for pants and blouse combo. Cocktail Parties No one wants to turn up to an evening function looking like a librarian, but too much skin showing is not appropriate. Wear a cocktail dress that finishes just above your knees.
