How to Dress in the Heat of Summer

  • Loose Fitting: Wear loose fitting clothing, like the Kira Blouse. Loose clothing allows your body to breath and air to flow.
  • Patterns or Dark Colors: When spending your day outside, you wear light colors, but the office is a different story. Patterns and dark colors hide sweat stains, something you want to avoid while at work! The Meg/Kate dress is gorgeous and comes in a stunning color!
  • Natural Fibers: Stick to natural fibers, such as linen, silk and cotton. Clothing made from natural fibers allows air to circulate better through the clothing, keeping your skin (and you!) cooler. The Jane panel dress is made out of linen – light weight and attractive!
  • Layers: Your walk outside to the car, subway, bus or work will be the hottest part of your day. Layer to keep your outfit looking crisp. Wear a tank or tee (Waterfall blouse) and add a blazer (Cutwork Jacket) once you get to the office. This will keep you covered in the office and comfortable outside.
  • Remember, you should always be comfortable in your clothing, especially on a hot summer’s day. Uncomfortable clothing will only make you feel worse and making concentrating on your work difficult. Drink lots of water and keep a cardigan on your chair to protect you from the air conditioner!]]>
